Impermanence

Am I alone? Or are we living life in fast forward? Scrambling from dusk till dawn, For food to eat, for a place to call our home. Well he said, I’ve been working all this time, To find I never lived, right before I die. And that’s why I walk the streets on sunrise. And let the peace fill your life. It’s so damn nice. Peace and quiet. Watch the birds take flight. When you walk the streets on sunrise. To be awake while the city sleeps is to witness an Earth at ease. The cool morning stars they fade. The roads are empty like runways. Machines rise, the birds they hide. But it’s okay for you have the silence inside. And that’s why I walk the streets on sunrise. And let it inspire my life. It’s so damn nice. Peace and quiet. Watch the birds take flight. When you walk the streets on sunrise.

Comrades 03:29
If you begin to see the world as your comrade. It’ll treat you as a comrade too. Without saying words, or making gesture. There’s a deeper knowing, coursing through. Comrades. Quenching our thirst from the same pond. Comrades. Breathing this air from a collective lung. Don’t forget we all yearn for happiness. We are united in consciousness. Don’t forget we all yearn for happiness. We are united in consciousness. In time you’ll see, adversity is your comrade. Growth is rooted in difficulty. View it all, view it all as your comrade. Change your mind and watch the world change with you. Walk out your front door, to mother nature. The greatest teacher of all. Follow her call, to fill a life with wonder and awe. To feel the interconnectedness of it all. Comrades. Quenching our thirst from the same pond. Comrades. Breathing this air from a collective lung. Don’t forget we all yearn for happiness. We are united in consciousness. Don’t forget we all yearn for happiness. We are united in consciousness.

It’s okay to make a change. In the fluid way of life, solid things fall apart. It’s okay to make a change. Move back toward the heart, with meaning and purpose by your side. All we know. Things come and go. Rise and fall. Surrender to the flow. It’s okay to make a change. Ego is nothing but a mask, and you are not your past. It’s okay to make a change. This is a journey not a race, so take it at your own pace. All we know. Things come and go. Rise and fall. What they didn’t teach us is that failure doesn’t exist. If you are not comparing how can it be relative. In this world, nothing is fixed. Change as you wish. It’s okay to make a change. In the fluid way of life, solid things fall apart. It’s okay to make a change. Move back toward the heart, with meaning and purpose by your side. By your side.

To climb up this peak, stand above it all. From up where the golden plains grow small. To be overcome by ease, as your lungs fill with the distant smoke. With the golden light bursting through the leaves, shining satori. Sunsets, silhouettes. Black peaks under red skies. Oh climb above it all, until you feel small. The sweet air, there’s nothing there but bird whistles to soothe an ear. Oh climb above it all, until you feel small. To climb up this peak, where the clouds roam. From up where, our daily problems grow small. To climb back down to Earth, with a new perspective, a new lens to view it all. A calmness; of feeling a part and at one with the whole. Sunsets, silhouettes. Black peaks under red skies. Oh climb above it all, til’ you feel small. The sweet air, there’s nothing there but bird whistles to soothe an ear. Oh climb above it all, til’ you feel small. Sunsets, silhouettes. Black peaks under red skies. Oh climb above it all, til’ you feel small. The sweet air, there’s nothing there but bird whistles to soothe an ear. Oh climb above it all, until you feel small.

All of our lives, we are taught. How to become, become somebody. If only we were, taught how to become. Become nobody, become nobody. When we realise our insignificance, we start to become significant. No longer thinking for one’s self. We think for one, for one another. We all realise someday, sooner or later. To find content in this life, the ego has to die. We all realise someday, sooner or later. To find content in this life, the ego has to die. To become nobody. To let go. To become nobody. Goodbye ego. To become nobody. To let go. To become nobody. Goodbye ego. All of our lives, we are taught. How to become, become somebody. If only we were, taught how to become. Become nobody, become nobody. To become nobody. To let go. To become nobody. Goodbye ego. To become nobody. To let go. To become nobody. Goodbye ego.

It’s getting pretty loud out there. Do you find yourself trying to cut through the noise? People all around, scream and shout. In the fear we are not bein’ heard. The quieter you are, the more that you hear. The stiller you are, the more that appears. The quieter you are, the more you hear. The stiller you are, the more that appears. Why do we fight noise with noise? When silence should be our solution of choice. To love is to listen, sometimes you don’t need an answer. To love is to listen, sometimes you just need to be heard. The quieter you are, the more that you hear. The stiller you are, the more that appears. The quieter you are, the more you hear. The stiller you are, the more that appears. The quieter you are, the more you hear. The stiller you are, the more that appears.

Sitting behind, behind the waterfall. Sitting behind, behind an endless roar. Sitting behind, behind the waterfall. Sitting behind, behind an endless roar. Stay open, listen and feel. You can come back to this place anytime, anywhere. Stay open, focus on what’s real. In awareness, we can sit behind the waterfall. Sitting behind, behind the waterfall. Sitting behind, behind an endless roar. Sitting behind, behind the waterfall. Sitting behind, behind an endless roar. Stay present, watch the cascade. If you look closely, it’s never the same, never the same. Stay present, no torrent will sweep, sweep you away. In awareness, we can sit behind the waterfall Do we all go full circle, chasing rainbows on cloudless days. To find that within us is an inherently peaceful place. The clock keeps turning, the water keeps flowing. But here we are, here and now, that’s all there ever is. Sitting behind, behind the waterfall. Sitting behind, behind an endless roar. Sitting behind, behind the waterfall. Sitting behind, behind an endless roar.

To be more like water. To be more. To be more like water. Look all around, there’s impermanence in everything. Long gone are these first words. Morning fog clears into a bluebird. To be more like water. Mould to your surroundings. Past and future do not exist. Take the now for what it is. To be more like water. To be more. To be more like water. An ambulance screams through the noon. Everything seems clear to you. Death gives meaning to our lives. As dark gives contrast to the light. Look from within. Just be. Just be the silent watcher. No need to judge this moment. It might be a small part of something bigger unfolding. To be more like water. To be more like water.

Well it sounds morbid, but you’ve got to keep death by your side. All that blooms, perishes. It’s an undeniable part of this life. Keep a beginner’s mind, to be open to things as they are. Approach each day as your first, and love like it’s your last. Oh you gotta’ keep death by your side. To see the value of our time. Keep death by your side. To appreciate the gift of life. So take it in your stride, that anything can happen at anytime. The only thing for certain, is the future is uncertain. Bask in the sun while you can feel it, let others know they’re loved while they can hear it. Bask in the sun while you can feel it, let others know they’re loved while they can hear it. Keep death by your side. To see the value of our time. Oh you gotta’ keep death by your side. To appreciate the gift of life. Oh you got to keep death by your side. For it’s the very fragrance of our time. Oh you got to keep death by your side. For it’s the very fragrance of our time.
